I don't wanna bore you with meteorological terms so I'll start by showing you the latest model runs. First up is the 0z European Model. Basically shows 3-6" of snow North of Interstate 80 with 1-3" in your general area.
Next is the 12z European Model. Snow area has shifted with the 3-6" area South of us. We get virtually no accumulating snow with this run.
Next is the 0z GFS model. This model basically shows no snow for our area at the same forecasted hour.
Next is the 12z GFS model. This run shows a substantial amount of snow in our area.
1: Yes, the models have been hinting at snow
2: Euro, GFS, and even GGEM (not listed above) showed snow for next week
3: Event is 7-10 days from occurring; lots can change
4: As of now, it's looking likely that there will be a storm to track
5: Lots of factors will come into the storm to grant us either rain or snow or even a mix
6: Am I saying it won't snow next week? NO. Wet flakes are possible but accumulations are unlikely at this time. I've stated on my page that it's looking like we won't have our first inch of snow until December. I'm sticking to that prediction until further notice. Yes, it can snow between now and then but I don't see anything measurable.
7: Try to avoid the "hype" regarding snow next week. If the models are still picking up on this by Sunday, I'll have another update with my thoughts.
8: Please understand that this post is NOT A FORECAST. It's intended to give you a general knowledge of what meteorologists and weather enthusiasts look at on a daily basis. Models are used for guidance. Thank you for reading and following my updates.
